Hays Talent Solutions claims second win in annual Contingent Workforce Hackathon

October 4, 2017 – Tampa, Florida – A Hays-led team won the second annual Contingent Workforce Summit (CWS) Hackathon for their presentation of a cost savings proposal. The team, which included members from Ford and Home Depot among other companies, worked in a collective group, starting with overall strategy and then moving into activities and tactics that would help achieve the desired results.

The Hackathon was one of the most in-demand sessions when introduced at CWS 2016, when two Hays-lead teams were recognized for their solutions. Bringing together attendees from different industries and types of organization, the challenge requires each team to work together to solve a real-world contingent workforce challenge using pre-defined scenarios.

The Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) judging committee was particularly impressed with the thoroughness and creativity of the team, Hackathon moderator Bryan Peña said. The diverse group came from a range of industries including recruitment, manufacturing, retail and engineering, with each member bringing a unique perspective.

“Working within the Hackathon encourages us to embrace a diversity of approach that helped build a better outcome,” team moderator Hays Talent Solutions Director Robert Moffat said. “We had stakeholders from differing companies, backgrounds and functions, who offered a variety of perspectives and approaches. Combining these views in a shared approach built a more rounded solution.”

The complete list of Hackathon winners is available on the SIA website.
