Your new role

As a Wet Trades Estimator, you’ll play a key role in supporting the pre-construction division by preparing cost estimates for a variety of wet-trade scopes.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the preparation of accurate and detailed construction cost estimates for commercial project work throughout the NY area.
• Reviewing architectural and construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to determine scope of work
• Quantifying material, labor, and equipment requirements
• Collaborating with senior estimators and project managers to analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers
• Performing quantity take-offs using estimating software – OST, Edge, Plan Swift, etc.
• Preparing bid proposals, managing RFIs, and change orders
• Staying updated on current market prices, material costs, and industry trends
• Maintaining organized records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation
• Participating in project site visits to understand site conditions and potential challenges
• Supporting the development of value engineering options and cost-saving measures

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you’ll bring:

• Experience preparing estimates for wet trades (concrete, masonry, plaster, fireproofing, etc.) within the construction industry
• Familiarity with residential, commercial, and mixed-use project scopes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Ability to collaborate with project teams and adapt to changing project needs
• Prior experience in the New York construction market is highly desirable.
