Our client is seeking a WebSphere Administrator in for a remote opportunity.

Role Description

• Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and manage IBM WebSphere Application Server environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize WebSphere applications and infrastructure to enhance performance and reliability.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Identify and resolve issues related to WebSphere applications and infrastructure, providing 24/7 support as needed.
• Security Management: Implement security measures and best practices to protect WebSphere applications and data.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to support application deployment and integration.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for WebSphere environments, including configuration, procedures, and best practices.
• Upgrades & Patch Management: Plan and execute upgrades and patches for WebSphere environments, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline WebSphere management tasks.

Skills & Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Application Server are preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Experience with installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of WebSphere environments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of security best practices and implementation in WebSphere environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
