Our client is seeking a Web Developer II in Richmond, VA

Role Description

• Genworth is undergoing a significant transformation through its Enterprise Data Program (EDP), including the implementation of a centralized data platform, standardized dashboarding, and a federated data governance model.
The data platform requires a Reference Data Management (RDM) application to ensure accuracy and consistency of Reference data across the organization. The application will enable business and technical users to self-service the access and management of reference data, providing them with a “single source of truth” to empower better decision-making, support data integration, and enhance operational efficiency.
We are seeking a contracted developer to assist with the design and implementation of this application through the first half of next year .

• The Reference Data Management solution will be a full-stack web application with work in the following areas:
• Frontend User Interface
• A modern single-page web app UI built using a React framework for exploring reference data values and relationships
• Allows differing views for various user personas based on role-based access controls
• Enable a self-service model for CRUD operations on underlying data tables
Backend API
• Extensible API endpoints for performing CRUD operations on all reference tables
• Enforcement of authentication and authorization controls for all operations
• Supplemental endpoints to enable programmatic interaction
• Database Management
• Modeling and creation of reference tables and views in a SQL database
• Standard SQL development to enable CRUD operations on reference tables
• Supplemental system tables to enable relationship navigation and RBAC controls
• Testing and Deployment
• Version control for all application components within a Git repo with proper best practices
• A comprehensive automated testing suite for all application functions
• Creation of a robust CI/CD pipeline for testing and deployment from the Git repo
• Configuration and version controlling of needed Databricks assets
• Documentation
• Comprehensive markdown documentation for all components of the repository
• Documentation will cover what components are present, their functionality, intended use, constraints, ownership, testing procedures, and deployment processes.
• The high-level application architecture has already been constructed. The lower-level design and build will be led by an existing Genworth developer who will assist with facilitation and implementation.
• The contracted developer will work in tandem with the lead developer throughout the duration of the project on implementation of the above items with a primary focus on the frontend user interface.
We are estimating the contract to last a period of nine months.
