Our client is seeking a VMO Technical Writer in Orlando, FL

Role Description

Technical Writer plays a key role in supporting strategic vendor management initiatives across Enterprise Technology. This role partners closely with the Sr. Manager, Technology VMO Strategic Operations and VMO Process Engineers to develop and maintain detailed AI-enabled process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support transparency and standardization across
sourcing and procurement workflows. The VMO Technical Writer will contribute to the development and activation of VMO Transformation strategies, including automation and workflow streamlining, standardization of VMO processes, improvement in cross-
team understanding, and the groundwork development for AI-powered process support.

• Author, organize, and update comprehensive, detailed process documentation and SOPs for VMO processes with a strong focus on creating content that is both user friendly and AI-enabled.
• Assist with process analysis, documentation workshops, and stakeholder interviews to extract process steps for translation into clear, structured documentation that can be leveraged for automation and AI-driven queries.
• Develop and re-enforce documentation standards, style guides, and templates to ensure structure and metadata consistency. Establish a process for periodic review and documentation updates.
• Work closely with Enterprise Tech and segment VMO teams to gather information, validate, and align processes. Collaborate extensively across departments – including Strategic Sourcing, IT Asset Management (ITAM), Service Optimization, Technology Portfolio & Business
Management (TPBM), Procurement, and Legal – ensuring that all process documents are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with organizational standards.
• Assist in training team members and customers in new or updated processes.

Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a technical writer or process documentation specialist, preferably in a technology, operations, or procurement environment.
• Proven ability to create clear, structured documentation for complex processes.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy and ability to explain intricate workflows and technical jargon in simple, understandable terms.
• Strong analytical mindset for understanding end-to-end processes and experience in process mapping or flowcharting techniques to visualize workflows.
• Experience using AI-powered writing or analytics tools and proven ability to adopt modern technologies to improve documentation efficiency and quality.
• Familiarity with vendor management, sourcing/procurement processes, and related terminology.
• Effective verbal communication skills and experience collaborating with cross - functional teams.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Suite, Airtable, Confluence, AI, and process visualization tools
• Previous experience in a Vendor Management Office (VMO) or in roles related to procurement, strategic sourcing, or IT operations.
• Familiarity with process improvement or quality frameworks (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
• Experience with structured authoring or documentation frameworks (such as DITA or Markdown for technical docs).
• Familiarity with vendor reporting and invoicing tools and processes. (e.g., Coupa, ServiceNow, ComSi, Apptio).
• Certifications in technical writing (e.g., CPTC – Certified Professional Technical Communicator) or related fields
• Technical writer skilled in documentation accuracy working at a granular level.
• Will be taking processes and SOPs to work at getting to a level of detail to automate processes vs manually.
• Must be well versed in Confluence, Airtables . SNOW, Coupa
• Will be working to streamline processes, Familiarity with AI as you will be using language that can be translated int AI.
• Requests will come through Airtables, evaluate data points as to what is next then work to inform Airtables next steps- what are next processes, etc.
• VMO experience is not necessary but will help
