Our client is seeking a Threat Hunter in for a remote opportunity

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Threat Hunter to join our cybersecurity team. This role focuses on identifying, analyzing, and mitigating advanced threats using Microsoft’s security ecosystem, including Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel SIEM, and SentinelOne. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in threat detection, incident response, and proactive hunting techniques to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments using Microsoft Defender and Sentinel platforms.
• Develop and execute custom hunting queries and analytics rules in Microsoft Sentinel.
• Analyze telemetry and threat intelligence to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs) and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Collaborate with SOC analysts, incident responders, and threat intelligence teams to investigate and remediate threats.
• Create and maintain hunting playbooks, detection rules, and automation workflows.
• Monitor and improve the effectiveness of security controls and detection capabilities.
• Provide detailed reports and briefings on threat hunting activities and findings.
• Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and threat actor behaviors.

Skills & Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in threat hunting or incident response.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel SIEM, and SentinelOne.
• Strong understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and threat hunting methodologies.
• Proficiency in KQL (Kusto Query Language) for building queries in Microsoft Sentinel.
• Familiarity with EDR, XDR, and SIEM technologies and their integration.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation and analysis.
•Microsoft certifications such as SC-200 (Microsoft Security Operations Analyst) or SC-100 (Cybersecurity Architect).
• Experience with threat intelligence platforms and frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud security (Azure, AWS, etc.) and hybrid environments.
• Experience in red/blue/purple team operations is a plus.
