Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Manager in Chicago, IL.

Role Description

• Manage daily operational activities (e.g., inventory management, production team scheduling, work order coordination; picking/kitting materials for production, etc.) related to inventory, shipping and receiving.
• Assist in day-to-day processing of purchasing requisitions and requests for all departments (technical and administrative supplies and chemicals).
• Manage all processes and staff related to shipping, receiving and inventory. Investigate and resolve shipping and receiving issues. Ensure adherence to environmental management requirements and systems (i.e., IATA, DOT, etc.)
• Responsible for space management in areas including, but not limited to Drum Room, Quarantine areas, Cage, Cold Storage and Second Floor Storage Room.
• Administers annual stock-take, routine cycle counts, and material expiry processes to maintain data integrity within the ERP System.
• Manages relationship with service vendors to support shipping (CGMP and non-GMP), support waste disposal documentation, cleaning, and repair for small laboratory equipment.
• Assure appropriate standard operating procedures are in place and adhered to for inventory control, shipping and receiving processes to ensure continuous compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Mine ERP data to look for cost saving opportunities and to identify ways to simplify and improve sourcing, purchasing and waste management (e.g., Kanban, re-occurring POs, blanket ordering, etc.).
• Partner with production and project teams to plan for success; ensure materials are available to avoid operating delays, and that appropriate processes are in place to accurately track and report inventory.
• Arranging and assisting with the onboarding of new employees.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, scheduling routine office maintenance, assisting with office moves, etc.
• Other activities as needed.

Skills & Requirements

• Knowledge of purchasing and data entry for ERP systems preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting, billing, and shipping functions preferred.
• Must have strong attention to detail, above average math skills and general knowledge of weight and volume measurements.
• Proficient PC skills with experience in data entry, using email, internet, key collaboration tools and

• MS Office applications. Must be able to create reports or documents using Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with all personality types.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and use a forklift.
• Bachelor’s degree required; preferred if in a scientific area (e.g., chemistry, biology, engineering).
• Experience in office management or an administrative role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Experience with ERP Systems (e.g., Syspro, SAP etc.) preferred.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize. Flexibility and Adaptability.
• Self-motivated, meticulous, and practical with strong problem-solving skills.
