A well-established commercial general contractor in the Tampa Bay region is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to join their leadership team. Known for delivering high-quality retail, industrial, and commercial projects, this firm values long-term relationships, operational excellence, and a collaborative work culture. With a key retirement approaching, they’re looking for someone who can step into a pivotal role and help guide the next chapter of the business.
Your new role
As Senior Project Manager, you’ll lead multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll be responsible for budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and client communication, while also playing a strategic role in mentoring staff and supporting business operations. This is a high-impact position with visibility across the company and an opportunity to shape its future.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing full project lifecycle: preconstruction, buyout, execution, and closeout
- Managing budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and change orders
- Leading scheduling and look-ahead planning with field teams
- Selecting and managing subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
- Maintaining strong client relationships and communication
- Producing clear documentation including RFIs, submittals, and reports
What you'll need to succeed
- 7–10+ years of experience in commercial construction project management
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Procore, Excel, and MS Project
- Familiarity with local subcontractor networks and permitting processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Professional certifications such as AC, CPC, or CCM are a plus
- Must be based in the Tampa Bay area (St. Petersburg, Tampa, Bradenton, Sarasota) with ability to commute to the office regularly
