Our client is seeking a Sr System Engineer in Celebration, FL

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr Systems Engineer to join a team responsible for maintaining the operational efficiency and reliability of both our shipboard and shoreside systems and services. In this role, you will work at the intersection of technology, guest experience, and operational excellence, ensuring that we continuously minimize downtime and optimize the performance of our infrastructure. You will also drive the seamless integration of advanced technologies in the industry, aligning them with business needs and enhancing customer experiences. This position requires a proven and experienced engineer in DevSecOps, desired state configurations, Kubernetes provisioning and support in both on-prem datacenters and cloud platforms, with a focus on maintaining high availability, scalability, and security in critical systems. Supported platforms include, but aren’t limited to web applications, mobile applications, POS systems, payment gateways, reservation systems, safety systems, and order management. You will also collaborate with various teams to deliver industry-leading solutions that exceed guest expectations.

• Design, analyze, evaluate, test, debug and implement applications supporting company business processes and operations
• Analyze, install, acquire, modify, and support operating systems, database, or utilities software
• Plan, conduct, and direct the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems within a small scope or as directed.
• Contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set
• Advanced knowledge of code for desktop applications, software APIs, and automation for use by internal engineering and creative partners
• Aid in guiding teammates in the analysis and organization of common business problems to be solved with automated systems
• You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies

Skills & Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of related work experience
• Technical experience in consumer and employee facing systems
• Ability to troubleshoot applications and systems
• Expertise in maintaining web, caching, and queuing technologies in large high traffic environments.
• Expertise in architecting highly scalable and highly available systems
• Expertise in a public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proficiency with containerization
• Proficiency in a programming language (Powershell, Python, Ruby, etc)
• Proficiency with distributed version control systems (e.g., GIT) with Continuous Integration/Deployment techniques (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Harness, etc)
• Proficiency supporting SQL & Oracle technologies
• Comfortable working in an agile environment
• Proficiency in Kubernetes & Rancher, VMWare, DevSecOps, and Automation, with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies
• Bachelor's or Equivalent Work Experience
• Experience in the industry or similar high-availability, customer-centric industries.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes, or related cloud technologies.
• RedHat OpenShift experience preferred
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks

• OpenShift, Kubernetes
• Load balancers, Akamai
• Languages: Go/Python/ Node.js (Angular.js framework)/Java (Spring MVC)
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes
