Our client is seeking a SQL Report Writer Data Analyst in Hollywood, FL.
Job Description
Analyze business needs and develop or procure technological solutions for the company (worldwide); procure methods and implement solutions in alignment with departmental goals and cost effectiveness. Monitor and evaluate solutions, troubleshoot issues as necessary to ensure service quality and IT systems performance. Support includes specification, installation, testing and monitoring of network systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines to deliver operational excellence.
Responsibilities
• Perform basic analysis in data network planning, engineering and design; work directly with business groups to develop solutions. Performs project preparation and setup as assigned by project leader. Manage project implementation and rollout and may sign off on vendor deliverables. Participate and may devise solutions for areas of project responsibility. Create or upgrade network components to meet business demands and/or infrastructure upgrades.
• Evaluate LAN/WAN hardware and software requirements and capabilities related to user needs and make recommendations for purchase and implementation. Develop and document standards for network architecture along with coordinating network integration under the general guidance of the network manager. Coordinate maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoot problems with department users and ships. Installs software programs on LAN or WAN. May formulate programming and configuration system changes for software applications to facilitate network system capability.
• Utilize monitoring tools and techniques to ensure optimum system availability by the early identification of equipment or software warnings and the proactive scheduling of preventive maintenance. Partner with vendors to schedule and implement recommended maintenance updates. Ensure key performance indicators and interconnections with other systems are operational and do not exceed established thresholds. Provide solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility. Schedule and monitor backups of critical systems to insure availability in case of system failure.
• Develop uniform operation procedures for Network (LAN) and wide area Network (WAN) hardware and software and communicate these procedures to ensure departmental efficiency, including implementation of self-service where appropriate.
• Provide infrastructure support for events (inaugurals, charters, etc.) including network troubleshooting and support for devices connected to the network, access to corporate based systems, and additional infrastructure for onboard projects.
• Provide repositioning support to vessels and Piers worldwide (new and recurrent piers) including but not limited to the evaluation, installation and monitoring of equipment.
• Participate of the Network on-call schedule as required.
• Research and engage vendors, procure quotes for budget submission. Communicate project milestones to involved business departments. Work with circuit provides (terrestrial and satellite) to maintain and monitor quality of service implementation.
• Assist the telecommunication team with day-to-day tasks for the EU offices (Ex. Agent creation/modification, general support).
• Perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Requirements & Skills
• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in complex, enterprise environments, with strong proficiency in Routing & Switching (Cisco preferred), Firewall configuration (Fortinet), and Cisco ISE
• Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies (Silver Peak preferred; Cisco or other alternatives acceptable)
• Must possess strong background in network automation, including Ansible, Python, and platforms like Itential or Torq
• Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid passport, able to travel internationally (5–10% travel annually for Devops focused role or 30-35% for classic Network Engineer role)
• Comfortable supporting shipboard operations, remote infrastructure, and global deployments
• Experience & proficiency w/ SDA Fabric, DNA, and ACI are extremely high plusses (BASICALLY JACKPOT IF THEY HAVE THESE)
• Cisco CCNP Certification is highly preferred
