Our well-established management-owned commercial construction firm, headquartered in Chicago, specializes in serving the greater Chicago metro area. We operate in a diverse market, providing construction services across sectors such as Healthcare, Hospitality, Development, Workplace, Education, Industrial, Aviation, and Luxury Residential.

Your new role

As a People & Culture Manager, your mission is to create an environment that attracts, retains, and develops top talent. Reporting directly to the Vice President of People & Culture, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our organization’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Team Support: Foster the growth of our HR team members by providing coaching, mentoring, and ensuring they have the necessary resources to excel.
  • Employee Life Cycle: Support the full employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration, compensation, leaves of absence, and disciplinary matters.
  • Compliance and Policy: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Regularly review and update HR policies and practices.
  • Strategic Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Management team to align HR practices with our operational goals.
  • Professional Standards: Uphold the highest professional standards and maintain strict confidentiality in sensitive matters.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Contribute to other job-related projects as needed.

Qualifications for Success

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant HR experience, including 5+ years in team management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead and drive excellence within a team.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is advantageous.
