A top-tier, global design, engineering, and consulting firm is hiring into its Northeast water team. The group supports municipal and industrial clients on critical infrastructure programs, with a steady pipeline of electrical work across the region.
Your new role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead electrical design and technical delivery for water and wastewater facilities and similar industrial environments. This is a hands-on, technical role for someone who can work independently, own designs, and build trusted relationships with internal teams and external clients. You will focus on power distribution and controls work, while supporting wider building and site systems tied to treatment facilities and pumping stations. You will be responsible for the electrical planning and design of water and wastewater projects, including power, controls, and field support.
Electrical power distribution and motor control systems
Controls and instrumentation interfaces, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Lighting, fire alarm, access control, and communications as required by site scope
Design criteria, calculations, one-lines, plans, and specifications
Construction support including submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
Site visits and field inspections to confirm installation matches design intent
Working closely with PMs and multidisciplinary teams to hit schedule and budget
Mentoring junior engineers from a technical perspective
Some travel is expected based on project needs.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related)
10+ years of relevant experience (consulting background preferred)
PE license in New York State, or able to obtain via reciprocity
Strong water/wastewater experience (recent is ideal, but earlier-career experience with a clear return to the sector can work)\
Strong NEC knowledge and design documentation skills
Experience with tools such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and SKM (or similar)
Experience with short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and photometric studies
Clear client-facing communication and the ability to work with limited oversight

Base salary in the range of $175,000–$240,000 depending on experience and location
