Our client is seeking a Senior Application Engineer in Orlando, FL

Role Description

• Design, build, and ship new features for a cutting-edge software platform supporting strategic decision-making at The Walt Disney Company.
• Lead and mentor engineers, while collaborating cross-functionally with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and DevOps to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications.
• Architect full-stack web solutions on AWS, including front-end, back-end, APIs, data persistence, security, and monitoring.
• Champion innovation by researching and implementing creative solutions to complex software challenges.
• Translate science models and business requirements into intuitive user experiences using workflows, wireframes, and mockups.
• Drive software development best practices across Disney’s global enterprise, contributing to technical planning, testing, and continuous integration using GitLab CI/CD.

Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years in software development with expertise in at least one programming language
• 3+ years of experience with Python
• 3+ years of front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with Django or similar Python web frameworks
• Experience with React or similar JavaScript libraries/frameworks
• Experience building applications that process large datasets using databases like PostgreSQL and Snowflake
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD for continuous integration and deployment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Data Mining, Mathematics, or equivalent
• The Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) team is responsible for supporting clients across The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) including Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP), Disney Entertainment (e.g., ABC, The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Theatrical, etc.), ESPN (ESPN Networks, ESPN+), and Corporate Finance. DDSI leverages technology, data analytics, optimization, and statistical modeling to build innovative tools that shape business
decisions and drive business value.
• Senior Application Engineers on the DDSI team are hands-on developers and innovators that enjoy working in a cutting-edge environment. They design, build, and ship strategic software platforms and applications that enable internal business decision-makers to view and manage data related to decision science workflows.
• These applications range from web-based end-user experiences to RESTful APIs and orchestrated data services.
• In this role, as a Senior Application Engineer, you will be part of a team developing a web-based analytic platform for
• The Walt Disney Company. You will design, build, and ship new functionality for a new platform.
