Our client is seeking a Scrum Master x 2 in Vienna, VA
Role Description
The Scrum Master II is a dedicated Agile leader responsible for enabling team success through effective Scrum practices. This role facilitates Agile ceremonies, removes impediments, shields the team from distractions, and fosters continuous improvement. The Scrum Master partners with stakeholders to ensure Agile principles are applied consistently, driving team performance and project outcomes.
This position supports moderately complex projects with minimal supervision, applying Agile methodologies to deliver value. A solid understanding of the business, products, and operating environment is essential to guide teams effectively.
• Champion Agile values and Scrum practices to foster high-performing, self-organizing teams.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and ensure alignment with Program Increment (PI) objectives and evolving business priorities.
• Remove impediments and drive continuous improvement in team delivery, quality, and velocity.
• Collaborate across teams and with Agile Coaches to ensure delivery roadmaps are sustainable and aligned with strategic goals.
• Build strong relationships across functions and leadership levels to support transparency, alignment, and shared ownership.
• Promote a culture of psychological safety, learning, and inclusive collaboration.
• Guide teams in applying the most effective Agile frameworks and scaling practices.
• Use data-driven insights to improve team performance and delivery predictability.
• Support cross-team coordination and dependency management within Agile Release Trains or portfolios.
• Advocate for Agile maturity and coach teams through change and transformation.
• Ensure team execution aligns with organizational and digital strategy.
Skills & Requirements
• 2–4 years of experience leading Agile teams or projects.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or PMI-ACP certification.
• Proven experience supporting multiple Agile teams simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, and scaling frameworks (e.g. SAFe).
• Skilled in facilitation, conflict resolution, and team coaching.
• Proficient in Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Rally.
• Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and visual.
• Ability to influence and build relationships across teams and leadership levels.
• Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and performance metrics.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution alignment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with sound judgment and discretion.
• CSM and/or PMI-ACP
• 2-4 years agile: Proven experience leading Agile teams or projects, ideally supporting multiple teams simultaneously.
• Agile frameworks: knowledge of scrum, kanban, SAFe and proficient in agile tools (ADO, Jira, Rally)
• Skilled in facilitating agile ceremonies, conflict resolution and team coaching
