Your New Role
The firm is currently seeking a Resident Engineer to lead the construction engineering activities of significant Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) projects. In this role, you'll oversee all on-site construction activity, ensure compliance with project specifications, and guide project teams toward successful delivery. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned engineer ready to take ownership of construction oversight, risk management, and quality assurance on complex Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) projects.
What You’ll Do
- Manage all aspects of field construction operations
- Enforce contract document compliance and approved submittals
- Review and approve RFIs, permits, shop drawings, and change orders
- Monitor construction risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with facility operations teams to maintain uninterrupted service
- Track schedules, ensure safety standards, and oversee project closeout
- Supervise the performance of field staff and CM teams
- Provide technical support, quality oversight, and reporting to leadership
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- 10+ years of experience in construction management or inspection
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Professional licensure required
- Proven experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project scheduling tools, and document control systems
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience coordinating with NYC public agencies (such as DEP) is advantageous
