Our client is seeking a Research Scientist in Cambridge, MA
Role Description
In the role as an Associate Scientist or Scientist within Oncology Translational Research, the ideal candidate will:
• Design, optimize, and set up high-throughput screening cellular assays to characterize drug responses and combinations in various in vitro oncology models.
• Conduct molecular, biochemical and related assays including qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, immunostaining and basic microscopy.
• Develop biomarker, pharmacodynamic and target engagement assays.
• Execute, troubleshoot and interpret scientific experiments with some supervision.
• Effectively communicate and document experimental procedures, analyze results and data through study reports and internal meetings.
• Collaborate with other team members in areas of responsibility.
Skills & Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of academic and / or industry experience
• Master’s Degree with 1-3 years of academic and / or industry experience
Top 3 to 5 Skills:
• Cell Culture
• Drug combination screen
• Molecular Biology
Preferred Qualifications:
• BS or MS with at least 3 - 5 years of industry experience in cellular biology, oncology and molecular biology in the pharma or biotech setting may be considered.
• Hands on experience in conducting cancer cell line and primary cell culture, expansion and functional assays.
• Experienced in the design and development of cell-based and molecular assays in a high-throughput manner.
• Experience performing analysis of protein and DNA/RNA samples using a variety of methodologies including but not limited to western blot, flow cytometry, qPCR, MSD/ELISA, RNAi, CRISPR.
• Proficiency in utilizing software such as Graph Pad, Microsoft office etc. for data analysis and figure generation is required.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate, detailed record-keeping of laboratory data.
• Ability to summarize and interpret scientific data and communicate well with peers and supervisors.
