Richmond based Commercial General Contractor hiring a Project Manager

HAYS are representing a leading general contractor in Richmond, VA, specializing in commercial construction projects, that are hiring a Project Manager due to continued growth. Open to either experienced Assistant Project Managers seeking progression, or current Project Managers looking for a new home. The company will support in relocating construction project managers to the Charlottesville area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Projects are commercial construction focused including Healthcare, Higher Education, Multifamily, Commercial Office and Light Industrial.
- Value of the projects range from $5M - $50M, ground up construction and renovations.
- Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.
- Develop and maintain construction project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and overall project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to clients and senior management.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and mentor construction project teams, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management with a commercial general contractor.
- Desired but not preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related AEC field.
- Ability to be on-site daily in Richmond, VA
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools such as Procore.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary in the range of $110K - $130K
- Performance-based bonuses with a potential to earn up to 10%.
