Construction Project Manager Job in Austin

Project Manager – K‑12 Construction (General Contractor, Austin, TX)

We’re seeking a Project Manager to join an Austin‑based general contracting team, leading ground‑up and renovation projects for K‑12 school districts across Central Texas. This role is ideal for someone who knows how to navigate the unique requirements of educational construction—tight schedules, occupied campuses, safety‑first environments, and community‑driven stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
  • Project Leadership — Oversee all phases of construction from pre‑con to closeout, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management — Serve as the primary point of contact for school districts, architects, and internal teams.
  • Budget & Cost Control — Develop, track, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Schedule Management — Create and maintain project schedules, coordinating subcontractors and internal resources.
  • Risk & Compliance Oversight — Ensure all work meets safety standards, district requirements, and state/local regulations.
  • Team Coordination — Lead project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain quality and productivity.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a general contractor.
  • Proven success delivering K‑12 or public-sector construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of Texas school district procurement, including CMAR, CSP, and JOC.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling tools (P6 or MS Project).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Why Join Us
  • Competitive salary and performance bonuses
  • Comprehensive benefits package (Truck, healthcare, gas)
  • Local Austin projects—minimal travel
  • A collaborative team culture with long‑standing district relationships
  • Opportunities for growth into senior PM and operations leadership roles
