Our client is seeking a Project Manager in Vienna, VA/Hybrid
Role Description
To provide comprehensive project management, product ownership, and business analysis support for Infosec Project Management Office (ISPMO teams. This will be done by applying strong organizational skills, agile methodologies, and technical expertise. This role will be responsible for managing a healthy backlog, facilitate team in creation user stories and business requirements, facilitating scrum ceremonies, and tracking deliverables to ensure initiatives remain on schedule and aligned with business priorities. This role requires proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO), Microsoft office suite, Microsoft Team, and collaboration tools to effectively organize work, drive team productivity, and maintain clear, accurate documentation. • Analyzing current processes, systems, and workflows to identify gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Translating functional and non-functional requirements into clear, actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation.
• Managing and prioritizing product backlogs to ensure alignment with business priorities and project goals.
• Facilitating Agile ceremonies and cross-functional collaboration to ensure shared
understanding and consistent progress
• Leveraging Azure DevOps and other project management tools to track deliverables,
dependencies, and timelines.
• Driving timely execution of agreed upon solutions while ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
• Continuously monitoring progress, resolving blockers, and adapting to evolving business needs
• Manage multiple projects across ISPMO teams ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
• Serve as a hybrid Project Manager/Product Owner/Business Analyst/Scrum Master to provide endto end support for product and operational initiatives.
• Maintain and organize product backlogs by capturing, refining, and prioritizing user stories and business requirements.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and refinement sessions.
• Leverage ADO boards to create and track user stories, manage boards, assign tasks, and monitor team progress.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, business partners, and vendors to define objectives, capture requirements, and ensure alignments.
• Prepare, edit, and deliver presentations, reports, and project documentation using MS office Suite and M365 applications.
• Ensure adherence to agile best practices by following established policies, procedures, and methodologies within the Scrum framework.
• Proactively identify and resolve project risks, dependencies, and blockers to maintain steady delivery progress
• Support effective communication between teams, leadership, and stakeholders by maintaining transparency around project status, issues, and next steps
• Oversee documentation processes to ensure project artifacts, deliverables, and decisions are accurate, accessible, and properly maintained.
Skills & Requirements
• 5+ years of project management experience and prior experience performing product ownership, business analysis, and scrum master responsibilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), including backlog management, boards, tagging and reporting
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework with experience facilitating Scrum
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to context-switch and manage deliverables across multiple initiatives
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and collaboration tools (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).
• Strong business analysis skills, including gathering requirements, writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear, accurate and well-formatted documentation.
• Self-starter with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently between scheduled meetings
• Ability to work onsite one designated day per week
• 8+ years of project management experience and prior experience performing product ownership, business analysis, and scrum master responsibilities.
• Prior experience supporting multiple agile teams simultaneously within a PMO environment.
• Advanced proficiency in ADO for reporting, dashboarding and managing complex backlogs
• Experience with vendor management and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration
• Familiarity with technical documentation and linking artifacts within ADO and/or SharePoint
• Prior experience in security-related or technology-focused projects
• Familiarity with process improvements methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
• SAFe certifications
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
• Certified Product Owner (CSPO)
• PMI-ACP or equivalent certification
• 5-8 years PM experience
