Project Manager - Heavy-Civil

Position: Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead and oversee all phases of heavy civil construction projects, with a focus on site development, grading, and land clearing. This role involves managing both administrative and technical aspects from pre-construction through final client acceptance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project goals, policies, procedures, and performance standards in alignment with organizational guidelines.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets by coordinating closely with field teams and taking corrective action when needed.
  • Represent the organization in project-related meetings and contribute to strategic planning and labor discussions.
  • Manage contract financials to protect company interests while fostering strong client relationships.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.
  • Conduct initial project assessments to determine scope and resource needs.
  • Develop detailed project estimates based on specifications, drawings, and contract requirements.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design, budget, and timeline, while coordinating with clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Direct onsite operations including scheduling, engineering, procurement, and administrative functions.
  • Supervise field personnel and subcontractors as required by project scope.
  • Provide technical guidance, interpret plans, recommend construction methods, and manage change orders.
  • Ensure efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment to meet contractual obligations and productivity goals.
Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, design principles, financial management, and team leadership.
  • Proven ability to implement effective management strategies that enhance team performance.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, practices, and procedures.
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in construction management, estimating, or field supervision within heavy civil or site development projects.
  • Broad knowledge of construction technologies, equipment, methods, labor agreements, engineering, estimating, scheduling, and safety protocols.
