VP/Project Executive of Construction Opportunity

Position Overview:
  • We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Construction to lead and oversee all aspects of mixed-use commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This executive-level role is responsible for driving project execution, ensuring quality, safety, and budget adherence, and aligning construction operations with the company’s strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy
  • Provide executive leadership to the construction team, including project managers, superintendents, and field staff.
  • Develop and implement construction strategies that align with company objectives and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Project Oversight
  • Oversee all phases of high-rise commercial construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from pre-construction planning to final turnover.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.

Team Development
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain top construction talent.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.

Financial Management
  • Develop and manage construction budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
  • Review and approve contracts, change orders, and pay applications.
  • Work closely with finance and development teams to ensure financial alignment.

Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for construction-related matters with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and city officials.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership and investors on project status and risk mitigation.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering mixed-use commercial projects valued at $100M+.
  • Deep understanding of construction contracts, scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6), and project management tools (e.g., Procore).
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
