VP/Project Executive of Construction Opportunity

Position Overview:
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Construction to lead and oversee all aspects of mixed-use commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This executive-level role is responsible for driving project execution, ensuring quality, safety, and budget adherence, and aligning construction operations with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide executive leadership to the construction team, including project managers, superintendents, and field staff.
- Develop and implement construction strategies that align with company objectives and project timelines.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Project Oversight
- Oversee all phases of high-rise commercial construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from pre-construction planning to final turnover.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
Team Development
- Recruit, mentor, and retain top construction talent.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage construction budgets, forecasts, and cost controls.
- Review and approve contracts, change orders, and pay applications.
- Work closely with finance and development teams to ensure financial alignment.
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for construction-related matters with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and city officials.
- Provide regular updates to executive leadership and investors on project status and risk mitigation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering mixed-use commercial projects valued at $100M+.
- Deep understanding of construction contracts, scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6), and project management tools (e.g., Procore).
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
