Our client is seeking a Principal SRE (Network)- PaaS RFP in Denver, CO.

Role Description

- Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
- Continuous evaluation and engineering of new and existing server infrastructure capabilities and features, to ensure requirements are met for both existing applications and new product services.
- Contributes to architectural discussions, with both internal and external peers, to ensure proposed solutions are meeting business and operational needs.
- Collaborates with other engineering and operational organizations to understand requirements and challenges and recommend solutions.
- Responsible for automating the compute certification, bare metal provisioning automation, domain specific automations, etc.
- Responsible for creation and maintain documentation including Compute Certifications, Implementation guides, bulletins, and design documents.
- Sets standards for approved infrastructure deployments and integrations.
- Support and maintain existing lab infrastructure leveraging defined ticketing and resource scheduling processes.
- The ability to multi-task and juggle between priorities as needed.
- Works with leadership to refine and effect current processes.
- Performs other duties as requested by manager.
- Assist in designing and implementing scalable, secure private cloud infrastructure using platforms like VMware vSphere, OpenStack, Nutanix, or similar.
- Translate architectural blueprints into operational infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain IaC templates using tools like Terraform, Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration of private cloud resources.
- Manage code repositories and promote best practices in code reuse and modularization.
- Support day-to-day operations of private cloud environments including compute, networking, storage, and virtualization layers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, including resource allocation, capacity, and network performance.
- Serve as Tier 2/3 support for private cloud issues escalated from operations or application teams.
- Collaborate with developers, system admins, and DevOps teams to resolve incidents and service requests.
- Work with network, storage, and security teams to integrate their services into the private cloud.
- Assist application teams in onboarding and migrating workloads to the private cloud.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including setup guides, support runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and internal tech forums to promote team learning and best practices

Skills & Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering and/or related and/or equivalent work experience.
- Extensive experience engineering, integrating and designing data center infrastructure solutions including rack/blade server hardware, virtualization platforms, SAN switching, storage technologies, basic networking and Cloud Management Platforms.
- Extensive experience working with Composable Infrastructure such as Liqid or GigaIO
- Advanced experience designing both physical and virtual solutions for cloud architectures leveraging both blade and rack mount server platforms.
- Advanced experience designing and engineering Software Defined Data Center solutions for workload optimization and placement.
- Advanced experience with Cisco UCS-X, UCS-C Series infrastructure, UCS Central and Cisco Intersight.
- Advanced experience with Dell R Series servers and Dell OME
- Advanced experience with HPE Proliant servers and HP One View
- Advanced experience working with MaaS platforms and automated deployment
- Advanced knowledge of Workflow Orchestration platforms, and Container technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
- Proficient with BASH, Python, Javascript, Ansible, Terraform, Redfish or similar scripting language.
- Advanced knowledge in robot framework to automate QA testing and robotic processes.
- Understanding of infrastructure logging and monitoring solutions, for alerting and reporting.
- Advanced experience with automated builds of new datacenter infrastructure deployments leveraging Workflow Automation platforms.
- Advanced experienced in creating technical drawings and schematicsusing Lucid chart or visio.
- Advanced experience working in a SAFe/Agile environment utilizing Jira Portfolio/Jira Align to manage projects and daily tasks.
- Advanced experience with TestRail to streamline testing processes.
- Experience with CMP service catalog creation.
