Senior Pre-Construction Manager / Chief Estimator - Core & Shell | New-build Multifamily Construction

We are collaborating with a top-tier full-service GC/CM firm known for its excellence in ground-up multifamily construction throughout New York City. This firm is closely linked with a multifamily residential developer responsible for over $2 billion in NYC real estate, which forms a substantial part of their projects. They are also a certified NYCHA contractor, currently managing projects for third-party clients in the commercial retail and hospitality sectors.


With a 40-year legacy, this firm has earned a reputation for delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. They operate two primary construction divisions: one dedicated to new construction and the other to NYCHA work, including gut-renovations and rehabilitation, sometimes even occupied renovations of the affiliated developer’s properties. This firm is well-positioned for continued growth, with an average project value of $65M, managing 4 to 7 projects at any given time, and construction cycles ranging from 22 to 31 months.


Your new role

They are seeking a Senior Pre-Construction Manager / Chief Estimator to oversee both construction divisions, managing the entire pre-construction process and providing strategic insights on market conditions as the firm continues to expand. This hands-on role requires the successful candidate to actively bid on various contract types while managing a team of five and leveraging a robust network of reliable subcontractors to produce competitive cost estimates.


What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you will need at least 9 years of experience in an Estimating capacity, with a proven track record of successfully bidding on low-income multifamily mixed-use developments across the tri-state area. Experience with NYCHA project bidding is advantageous, and management experience would be an added benefit.
