Commercial Construction Subcontractor hiring an Operations Manager

Your New Company:
A newly formed, DMV based Construction Subcontractor focusing on providing Drywall, Concrete and Masonry services to the commercial sector, is looking to hire an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of multiple commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. This a brand-new position, reporting into a driven and ambitious company owner, with a lot of creative freedom on offer.


Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly into company ownership, the core of this construction Operations Manager role will include:


  • Project Oversight:
    Full lifecycle involvement of the projects from estimating to project management including managing the schedule, budget, and execution of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team Leadership:
    As the team grows, supervise project managers, site supervisors, and field staff; provide guidance and performance feedback.
  • Resource Coordination:
    Allocate labor, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines and cost objectives.
  • Compliance & Safety and QA:
    Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies, ensuring projects as delivered to an excellent standard.
  • Client Relations:
    Serve as primary point of contact for clients; resolve issues and maintain strong relationships, as well as contract negotiations, business development and proposal management.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare and present progress reports, financial updates, and risk assessments to ownership.


Successful Applicants will have:
  • 10-20 years of construction Project Management experience working for a Drywall, Masonry or Concrete subcontractor.
  • Current title could be as Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, Director or Operations Manager working for a construction subcontractor.
  • Proficient in managing supply chain processes, estimating and project managing commercial construction projects.
  • Passionate and can bring high-level energy stepping into and growing a company.
  • Tech savvy, all systems will be flowed through Procore.
  • Local to Washington DC/surrounding and can commute across the DMV area within the beltway.


Compensation/Benefits:
  • Base salary assessed case by case, range of $150K - $185K
