Our client is seeking a Network Admin in Vienna, VA

Role Description

Join our team as a Mid-Level Network Engineer, responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network solutions with a focus on Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) and Cisco SD-WAN technologies. You’ll work hands-on with Cisco networking hardware/software, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructure.

• Design, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Cisco ACI and Cisco SD-WAN solutions in data center and branch environments.
• Support network refresh and migration projects, including staging, equipment shipping, and on-site coordination.
• Monitor network performance, analyze issues, and proactively resolve problems to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver on business and technical requirements.
• Document network configurations, changes, and procedures for operational teams.
• Participate in change management processes and track requests through ticketing systems.
• Contribute to automation initiatives using tools such as Ansible and Python.
• Provide technical support and training to end users and junior staff.

Skills & Requirements

• 3–6 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a Cisco environment (with a relevant degree; 6–8 years without a degree).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and SD-WAN technologies (configuration, deployment, and support).
• Strong understanding of Cisco ACI architecture, policies, and integration.
• Familiarity with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, and network segmentation.
• Experience with network troubleshooting methodology and performance monitoring.
• Exposure to automation tools (Ansible, Python) and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Experience with ticketing/change request processes in enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Cisco certifications: CCNA (required), CCNP (preferred).
• Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with Agile project methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
• Cisco ACI & SD-WAN: Experience designing, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Cisco ACI and SD-WAN in enterprise environments.
• Cisco Networking & Protocols: Hands-on with Cisco routers/switches and Strong grasp of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, and segmentation.
• Network Troubleshooting & Monitoring: Skilled in diagnosing network issues and using performance monitoring tools.
• Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code: Familiarity with Ansible and Python and exposure to infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Enterprise Collaboration & Change Management: Experience with ticketing systems and change request workflows
