Assistant Project Manager for large scale multifamily ground up projects in the DC area.

Your new company:

Hays are exclusively partnering with a well-known Multifamily General Contractor in the Washington DC market as they continue to grow their team. This construction company have been building in the Washington DC market for the last 20 years and have developed an excellent reputation, working on negotiated contracts within the high rise multifamily apartment, condominiums and hotel sectors. My client has two new build multifamily projects starting in Q2 and Q3 of 2022 in the DC metro area and are looking to hire experienced Assistant Project Managers to join their team.

Your new role:

Your primary role will be to assist the Project Management team throughout the delivery of the Multifamily Apartment projects. The projects will be in the range of $60M-$150M, concrete structures. The contracts are typically negotiated contractors with clients they have partnered with for 10+ years.

Your day to day tasks will include the management of the team, oversight of the RFIs, receiving and tracking submittals, oversight of permits, maintaining subcontractor relationships, leading progress meetings, managing the budget and schedule as well as logging safety and quality control measures.

What you'll need to succeed:

You will have 5-8 years of construction experience, ideally within multifamily new build construction projects however other project exposures, for example in commercial office, hotels or healthcare. You will demonstrate strong communication and team building skills, excellent organizational skills and be able to work well under pressure. Your attention to detail will see you managing quality and risk on this project to ensure a high level of satisfaction from your client. A construction related degree is desired but not essential, candidates with construction management or civil engineering degrees are most sought after. Ideally you will have operating knowledge of Procore.
