Our client is seeking a MS 365 Engineer in Raleigh, NC/Hybrid

Role Description

This position is responsible for engineering, governance, and operational excellence across Microsoft 365 services—including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and the broader collaboration stack—as well as identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID. The role combines deep technical expertise with a strategic mindset, supporting global initiatives such as cloud adoption, Zero Trust, endpoint modernization, and scalable digital workplace capabilities.

• Lead the architecture, engineering, and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 services and Entra ID.
• Manage identity lifecycle processes, authentication and authorization models, and role-based access frameworks.
• Implement and maintain security and compliance configurations including Conditional Access, MFA, identity governance, and data protection controls.
• Drive optimization initiatives across the Microsoft 365 collaboration suite, ensuring performance, reliability, and secure adoption at scale.
• Support global cloud-first transformation projects and contribute to enterprise infrastructure strategies.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., GxP, EU data boundary, PII handling).
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and endpoint teams on integrated platform solutions.
• Provide Tier 3 engineering support and resolve complex incidents and operational issues.
• Develop technical documentation, standards, governance models, and best practices.
• Support integration of third-party applications, automation initiatives, and process improvements.

Skills & Requirements

• The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep experience in Microsoft cloud platforms, strong security and identity expertise, and a passion for building modern, scalable enterprise services. You thrive in a global, collaborative environment and enjoy combining operational ownership with strategic influence.
• Experience in Microsoft 365 engineering, identity and access management, cloud security, and enterprise IT infrastructure. Strong background in operational support, platform optimization, and implementation of security and compliance controls. Years Required: 5–8 years
• Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
• Microsoft Entra ID (identity, governance, Conditional Access)
• Zero Trust concepts and cloud security best practices
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Endpoint and identity integration experience
• Incident management and problem-solving
• Documentation and governance development
