The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s/applicant’s qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Mid Level SQL DBA in Raleigh, NC.

Role Description

• High level administration - instances at database level
• Managing all instances on the DBs currently
• Handling Virtual machines in Azure Cloud - these are only used for SQL server
• Managing all releases/deployments in the SQL environments (test, staging production etc)
• Any DevOps that might be around deployment management
• Red Gate tools currently - having some experience would be nice to have, not a requirement
• New Relic is the other tool set that would be nice to have
• They will do monitoring and alerts through
• They will also be working with the software dev and engineering teams reviewing SQL code
• Before anything makes it's way to production, DBA will review all SQL objects from groups
• Working at a detailed level with user defined productions that are being used currently, tune them make them more efficient and potentially rewrite them
• Will be responsible for some smaller nuances of things in the infra space - patches on Virtual machine
• Managing the backup and retention strategy for backup databases
• Some MS SQL replication schemes (monitoring and managing these)
