MEP Mechanical Associate
A leading engineering consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Associate to join their growing team in Midtown Manhattan. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned mechanical engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about designing innovative, high-performance building systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC design and engineering, with experience leading projects from concept through construction. This role involves working closely with architects, other engineering disciplines, and clients to deliver integrated solutions across a variety of sectors including commercial, healthcare, mission-critical, and institutional facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design efforts across all phases of building projects
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of systems
- Oversee production of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and construction administration
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project requirements
- Support business development efforts through technical expertise and client engagement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical building systems design
- Strong proficiency in HVAC design and system layout
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and other design tools
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- PE license preferred but not required
