Our client is seeking a Manager, Vendor Performance, in Foster City, CA.

Role Description

The core responsibilities and skills required for this position include but are not limited to:
• Own management and delivery of day-to-day vendor performance management operational activities, including issue escalation and resolution, performance metric analyses, and collaboration on continuous improvement efforts.
• Demonstrates excellent technical or analytical knowledge base, with ability to assess data, processes and understanding.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, teamwork, and initiative; maintains confidentiality; maintains meticulous attention to project deadlines.
• Supports the creation of presentations and or other internal materials related to the VPM group.
• Supports meeting management by scheduling meetings, developing agendas, gathering content, taking notes, and distributing meeting minutes.
• May support the development of select materials for external customers as determined by the team.
• Strong desire and ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to work well as part of a team.
• Collaborates with functional vendor management stakeholders to gain insights for driving health of vendor performance.
• Delivers with optimal collaboration, accountability, and integrity to business partners.
• Shows the clear ability to apply critical thinking, a continuous improvement mindset, and vision towards the growth of the vendor performance team’s activities.
• Shows clear ability to work collaboratively with other cross functional groups.
• Ability to influence and deliver across dynamic cross-functional groups.
• Competency in establishing relationships with cross functional teams, such as operations, finance, quality, systems, and process.
• Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions related to projects and tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to have difficult conversation and challenge both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint and SharePoint.

Skills & Requirements

Specific Education & Experience Requirements:
• BA/BS with 5+ years relevant experience, vendor management, and biotech or pharmaceuticals industry
• Previous experience in multiple aspects of vendor performance management including partnering with vendors on KPI development and metrics reviews, as well as issue escalation management and performance improvement initiatives. Several years and significant experience preferred.
• Project management/Initiative experience preferred or experience in managing complex projects.
• Familiarity with clinical drug development operational processes.
