Our client is seeking a Lab Operations Technician in Seattle, WA.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a contractor Lab Technician to support the Cell Therapy Thematic Research Center Strategy and Operations team. Responsibilities include maintaining lab equipment, troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and implementing emergency response plans. The role also involves assisting with efficiency improvement programs, managing equipment moves, and collaborating with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and time management skills, be highly organized, and work well collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and respond to emergent needs of lab equipment and instrumentation.
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance of lab equipment, including sterilization.
• Assist with general lab organization, efficiency, functionality, and productivity.
• Interface with cross-functional teams in supply chain, facilities, EH&S, IT and scientific groups to ensure needs are met, safety protocols are followed, and communication is clear.
• Collaborate with external partners to schedule and follow up on preventative and corrective service measures.

Skills & Requirements

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional groups.
• Ability to quickly evaluate problems/areas for improvement and identify core issues or causes.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help develop solutions and escalate ongoing issues to appropriate stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook).
• General familiarity with scientific laboratory environment, safety, and operations. Experience in a biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) environment required.
