IT Technician(Tier 2) – Contract – Raleigh, NC – $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Our client is seeking a IT Technician(Tier 2) in Raleigh, NC.

Role Description

• Provide desktop software, hardware, and networking to support for corporate offices and all apartment community locations (typically requires day travel, occasional overnight travel)
• Respond to requests for support via work tickets
• Communicate with end-users to understand their support request
• Provide end-user with realistic expectation for completing the work request
• Upon completion of the work request, communicate results with end-user
• Perform regular preventative maintenance checks on PC’s, printers, and copiers
• Manage trouble tickets and orders for telephone hardware, telephone service, and internet service at remote locations
• Maintain VPN connection to production and disaster recovery data centers via Meraki firewalls
• Image, configure, and deploy new computers, re-image existing computers when necessary
• Create and maintain Active Directory and Exchange user accounts
• Manage file share NTFS permissions
• Provision, configure, and support mobile devices and corporate office phones
• Ensure that computers are regularly patched and secured to prevent viruses or malicious attacks
• Collaborate with and assist the rest of the IT team
• Problem/resolution and root cause management
• Perform other assigned duties not defined above. Top Technical Skills:
• Installation, configuration, and management of Desktop Operating Systems such as Windows 7
• Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2008 R2 installation, configuration, and management
• Active Directory management and configuration
• MS Exchange, Outlook, and OWA management and configuration
• Mobile device, Exchange Active Sync configuration and management (iOS and Android)
• TCPIP configuration. Understanding of Broadband connections and firewall/router configuration
• Understanding of telecommunications, analog and VOIP phone systems.
• Desktop image creation, maintenance, and deployment

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information sciences, or related field and/or 3 years equivalent work experience required
• Minimum 3 years of IT experience required
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the multifamily industry preferred.
• MCSE certification preferred
• 2-5 years of IT experience
• 60% phone / 30% onsite in Raleigh / 10% travel to other markets (Alpharetta, Dallas, Florida, etc.)
• Tech skills: Windows, Azure Cloud & AD, Cisco Meraki, Light Networking experience
• Characteristics: quick learner, motivated, inquisitive, willingness to accept additional tasks or projects outside of daily job requirements
