Responsible for overseeing all aspects of a commercial building's operations, including maintenance, repairs, cleaning, security, and compliance with regulations, ensuring the facility remains functional, safe, and efficient for occupants while managing vendor contracts and coordinating with tenants to address their needs; essentially acting as the primary point of contact for the building's upkeep and functionality.
What you'll need to succeed
- Technical knowledge: Understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), maintenance procedures, and facility management software.
- Project management: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor maintenance projects within budget and timelines.
- Communication skills: Effective communication with tenants, vendors, staff, and upper management.
- Problem-solving: Identifying and resolving facility issues quickly and efficiently.
- Leadership skills: Ability to manage and motivate a team of facilities staff.
- Contract negotiation: Negotiating favorable terms with vendors and contractors.
