Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst (Information Technology Department) in Hollywood, FL.
Role Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing fiscal analysis for a full range of financial related functions pertinent to the Information Technology Department including, accounting, budgeting, and others. The IT Financial Analyst will partner with IT Managers and vendor management to drive cost transparency, forecast accuracy, and value realization across software, infrastructure, cloud, and other technology services.
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
• Performs fiscal analysis for a full range of financial related functions pertinent to the Information Technology Department including budgeting, accounting and others.
• Participates in department and upper management strategic planning. Researches, investigates, and recommends improvement in business and management practices.
• Coordinates operational budgets for the division and participates in Department consolidations. Serves as primary contact person for the division on matters relating to the budgetary process.
• Participates in the preparation of regular and special budget reports. Coordinates collection of budget/accounting data and assists in the completion of quarterly, semiannual, annual and ad hoc budgetary reports. Analyzes monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls including publish monthly executive dashboards.
• Balances the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) count process for all new, replacement, transfers or promotions, as well as any type of employee movement that would affect position title, classification or pay structure are within budget.
• Reviews and examines budget estimates; plans and performs economic and/or financial analysis and analyzes reports for the purpose of maintaining expenditure controls in while coordinating with key department personnel to maximize the use of funding.
• Assists in developing/generating the necessary data for financial reporting on cost basis for the Information Technology Department. Performs moderately complex work in accounting systems and related aspects of financial management including SOW financial performance requirements and value/ROI modeling. Provides technical assistance in the areas of financial analysis and provides guidance regarding completion of tribal forms, and other areas as required.
• Assists in the preparation and reconciliation of internal reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing operational project financial information from project management staff and the Accounting Department.
• Performs financial analysis of expense reports; monitoring expenses on capital projects, and operating budget and review and issue specialized purchase orders.
• Reviews department’s acquisition of construction supplies, equipment, labor and services. Examines expenditures for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations.
• Assists with the maintenance of accounting ledgers, reports and other financial documentation and examines for technical defects and error; verifies and reconciles financial data to assure accuracy and completeness of information.
• Monitors funding and reporting deadlines and ensure that all required information is delivered on a timely basis for all funding sources.
• Participates in the department’s emergency management preparation.
Skills & Requirements
• 5-7+ years of experience in IT financial analysis, IT budgeting, accounting, or IT budget management, supporting technology organizations with budget planning, expenditure controls, CAPEX/OPEX management, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Experience partnering with CIOs, IT leadership, accounting teams, and vendors to develop budgets, review invoices and expenditures, perform variance analysis, provide funding recommendations, and present budgetary information for executive and governance meetings.
• Strong IT finance expertise with the ability to translate financial data into technology-focused insights, including software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, managed services, contract renewals, vendor spend, ROI modeling, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI reporting skills, including ingesting and analyzing large datasets, building executive dashboards, creating forecasts, performing driver-based financial modeling, and presenting concise financial briefings to business and IT stakeholders.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• FinOps (Cloud Financial Operations) and Technology Business Management (TBM) experience.
• ServiceNow ITFM/ITAM, Oracle, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, or COBIT exposure.
• Experience with SOW financial reviews, SLA/KPI tracking, RFP financial scoring, pricing benchmarking, and contract renewal modeling.
