Hays have partnered with a leading global financial services firm, who are looking to hire an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee day‑to‑day management of their North American regional offices. This role will ensure all owned and leased properties operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest professional standards.

Your new role

As the Facilities Operations Manager, you will lead in‑house maintenance teams and 3rd party contractors to manage all aspects of building operations. This will include infrastructure, technical systems, housekeeping, and grounds. You will work closely with regional and global teams to align processes, streamline procedures, and ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and industry best practice. A strong understanding of building systems will also key, ensuring systems including BAS, HVAC, emergency power, lighting controls, and fire safety, have maximum uptime, data integrity, and system resilience. Duties for the role also include management of expense & capital budgets, and maintaining records relating to facilities systems, CAD files, project files, building records, operating trends, regulatory requirements, and contracts.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 5+ years facilities management experience, preferably in commercial office settings.
  • Must demonstrate a strong, calm, and confident presence during difficult circumstances, under duress, and in response to emergencies that could threaten personal safety, employee safety, protection of property and/or information.
  • Minimum of 3 years of general supervisory experience, with strong supervisor skill sets.
  • IFMA CFM or similar certification desirable.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), HVAC plants, UPS & battery systems, emergency generators, network wiring/fiber topologies, fire alarm systems, public utility rate structures.
