Commercial Estimator Opportunity

Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, industrial facilities, and mixed-use developments. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of construction methods and materials, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare and present bid proposals and budgets to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing databases.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations in construction materials and labor.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Design-Build and CMAR project delivery methods.
  • Familiarity with LEED certification and sustainable building practices.
  • Knowledge of local construction market and subcontractor base.
