Estimator – Light Industrial Construction (Dallas, TX)

Overview
A Dallas‑based general contractor is seeking a skilled Estimator with strong experience in light industrial construction. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for ground‑up and large‑scale projects exceeding $50 million. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of construction costs, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with project teams, trade partners, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for light industrial projects, including quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and subcontractor pricing.
- Lead the pre-construction process, coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Develop and manage bid strategies, schedules, and proposal submissions.
- Evaluate drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify risks, opportunities, and value‑engineering options.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Participate in project handoff meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to operations.
- Track historical cost data and market trends to support future estimating efforts.
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor.
- Proven background in light industrial construction (manufacturing, distribution, logistics, flex industrial, etc.).
- Experience estimating projects valued at $50M or more.
- Strong proficiency with estimating software and tools (Bluebeam, On‑Screen Takeoff, Sage, Procore, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
