Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Underground Utility Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for underground utility construction projects, including water, sewer, and storm systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction estimating and a deep understanding of utility infrastructure on residential projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction estimating and a deep understanding of utility infrastructure on residential projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
- Identify and assess project risks, constructability issues, and value-engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on scope and pricing.
- Maintain organized bid documentation and historical cost data.
- Prepare bid proposals and assist in project handoff to operations teams.
- Track actual costs and compare them to estimates for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in underground utility or civil sitework estimating.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Agtek, Bid2Win).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with both public and private sector projects.
- Knowledge of Florida and Georgia utility construction standards and permitting processes.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
