Our client is seeking a Engineering Drafter II in for a remote opportunity

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Structural Packaging Engineer / Designer with expertise to support the creation of production ready structural specification dielines for medical technology packaging applications.
This role partners closely with packaging engineers and analysts to translate approved packaging concepts and requirements into accurate, manufacturable structural drawings that support printing, cutting, forming, and downstream production across a wide range of substrates and packaging formats. This position is a contract role intended to provide technical execution support during peak workload and project demand.

• Create, modify, and maintain structural packaging dielines using ArtiosCAD as the primary design tool.
• Develop production/manufacturing ready dimension drawings suitable for:
• Die creation
• Printing
• Cutting, folding, and forming processes
• Design and support a variety of packaging structure types, including (but not limited to):
• Folding cartons
• Labels
• Inserts and leaflets
• Protective components
• Corrugated and paperboard structures
• Apply strong understanding of manufacturing tolerances, print considerations, and converting processes in dieline development.
• Incorporate material behavior, grain direction, caliper, and forming constraints into structural designs.
• PLM & Asset Management
• Create, route, revise, and manage dieline assets within ENOVIA PLM system.
• Support change control, revision management, and documentation workflows.
• Ensure drawings meet internal standards for traceability, accuracy, and release readiness.
• Work closely with:
• Packaging Engineers
• Packaging Analysts
• Support engineering teams by translating requirements into clear, accurate structural documentation.
• Execute approved packaging concepts and requirements; this role does not own concept generation or packaging system decisions.

Skills & Requirements

• 4of professional experience in structural packaging design.
• Proficiency in ArtiosCAD – required day one.
• Demonstrated experience creating manufacturing grade structural dielines for packaging designs, not conceptual layouts only.
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Packaging printing methods
• Die cutting and converting processes for packaging Manufacturing constraints related to packaging structures
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams.
• High attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy in a regulated environment.
• Experience supporting medical device or med tech packaging.
• Familiarity with regulated documentation practices (e.g., design controls, revision discipline).
• Experience designing across multiple packaging formats and substrates, not a single material type.
• Comfort working within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Exposure to packaging standards, testing considerations, or downstream validation activities (supporting role).
