Electrical Project Engineer (Systems Integration): Civil • Rail • Infrastructure

A well‑established civil and infrastructure contractor is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to support multiple ongoing transportation and municipal projects across New York City. The company delivers complex design‑build and systems‑heavy projects, including upgrades to rail facilities, yards, pump stations, and critical infrastructure.
Due to continued growth and several new multi‑year awards, they are expanding their project management team with a seasoned electrical or electronic systems professional who can oversee coordination, integration, and field execution.
Your new role
You will serve as the key electrical systems point‑person across several active and upcoming projects. This is a field‑focused, coordination‑heavy role where you will ensure that electrical, mechanical, communications, and control systems are properly integrated and delivered on schedule.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing day‑to‑day coordination of electrical and low‑voltage systems
Reviewing design and build documents, shop drawings, and instruction manuals
Ensuring interconnection and integration of sensors, pumps, control panels, HMIs, fire alarm systems, HVAC interfaces, and communications equipment
Cross‑referencing drawings to ensure that no components or scopes are missed
Overseeing integration work performed by electrical subcontractors
Supporting procurement of electrical and systems‑related materials
Working closely with field teams to maintain progress on aggressive schedules
Serving as an additional layer of project oversight for controls, signals, power, and track‑adjacent systems
Providing on‑site support at multiple locations as needed
What you'll need to succeed
10+ years of experience in electrical, electronic, or systems‑related roles
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or similar
Experience working for a contractor, design‑build firm, or construction manager
Strong understanding of control systems, sensors, communications, and interconnection diagrams
Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, civil, and control drawings and cross‑reference multiple disciplines
Experience with field‑based coordination and working on active infrastructure projects
Background in rail, utilities, municipal, industrial, or transportation projects is a strong advantage
Ability to work on fast‑moving, multi‑site projects with shifting priorities
