Seeking a motivated and skilled Mid-Level Electrical Design Engineer to join the team in Upstate New York location. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers to design and develop electrical systems for a variety of projects, including commercial buildings, institutional facilities, and infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for various projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems
- Prepare electrical system designs, specifications, and drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and voltage drop analysis for electrical systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet client requirements, local, state, and national codes (NEC), and industry standards.
- Review and coordinate electrical designs with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
- Support project management by tracking project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical support during construction and installation phases.
- Assist with electrical design evaluations, commissioning, and system troubleshooting as required
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in building systems or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with electrical design software, including AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with electrical calculation tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- EIT certification preferred; PE license is a plus.
- Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, wind, etc.) is a plus.
