Principal Electrical Engineer Mission Critical Projects

Your new company

You’ll be joining a large, international engineering and professional services organization with teams based across multiple regions. The firm delivers a wide range of technical and advisory services within the built environment and is known for supporting complex projects across various sectors.

They are now expanding into the data center and mission‑critical space and are investing in senior technical leadership to build this capability from the ground up. This is a long‑term initiative supported by senior decision‑makers across the business.

Your new role

This is a strategic position focused on establishing a new discipline within the company. As the Principal Engineer, you will help shape the firm’s mission‑critical offering, lead the first wave of projects, and define the technical direction as the practice grows.

You’ll work closely with leadership teams to set standards, support client development, and build internal capability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and lead the company’s data center/mission‑critical capability
  • Develop strategies, standards, and delivery frameworks for this new service line
  • Provide technical direction and oversee engineering delivery on early projects
  • Support proposals, bids, and commercial planning
  • Act as a senior technical advisor for clients
  • Identify design challenges and issue guidance, RFIs, and technical clarifications
  • Mentor and develop engineers as the team expands
  • Collaborate with other engineering groups across the organization
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and technical excellence


What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Background in data center or mission‑critical engineering

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Experience with HVAC systems, standby power, fuel systems, and critical infrastructure

  • Strong client‑facing and business‑development ability

  • Consultancy experience with leadership responsibilities

  • Ability to build, shape, and grow a new technical offering
