Role Overview
The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in driving the financial operations of the company. This leader will oversee all accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls. The role involves planning, budgeting, and compliance with financial regulations. This individual will partner with executive leadership, using their financial expertise to enhance decision‑making and help drive rapid growth toward $1B in revenue, strengthening systems, processes, and financial reporting to ensure scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
- Oversee construction-specific financials: job costing, WIP schedules, subcontractor compliance, change orders, and accruals.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and outline complex models into simple terms that others can work with.
- Create usable budgets for the business, including evaluating the needs of each department in the long term.
- Manage internal controls, financial policies, and compliance requirements.
- Mentor and grow the accounting team in line with the company’s culture and values.
- Support strategic initiatives including new markets, acquisitions, and systems upgrades.
- Lead evaluation and implementation/optimization of an ERP/accounting system to handle expansion and automation.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
- Strong experience in construction accounting, including WIP and job cost.
- Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams in mid to large GCs.
- Verbal and written communication skills to create reports and present them to others.
- Strong creative skills to develop new and innovative solutions.
- Ability to create and deliver unbiased budget expectations for different departments.
- Experience in scaling systems and processes to support significant growth.
- High integrity, detail orientation, and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical and analysis skills.

Compensation
- $160,000–$185,000 base salary
- 10%–20% annual bonus
- 3 weeks paid vacation
- 401(k) with company match
