Our client is seeking a Director, Enterprise Data Management in for a remote opportunity

Role Description

This leadership position will establish and maintain an enterprise-wide data management framework to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and compliance across business and clinical systems. Working closely with executive leadership, you will shape data strategy, foster a data-driven culture, and enable smarter, faster decisions.

• Data Strategy & Governance: Define and implement enterprise data governance programs aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Policy & Standards: Develop and enforce policies for data ownership, stewardship, and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Data Quality: Establish KPIs, monitor data quality, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as liaison between business, IT, and compliance teams; lead governance councils and promote a data-driven culture.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to privacy, security, and retention standards; manage risk assessments and audits.
• Technology Enablement: Partner with IT to implement data governance tools and integrate controls into enterprise systems.
• Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team; manage budgets and oversee key initiatives.

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, or related field - Required.
• 12+ years in data governance/management; 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Expertise in data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK), regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience with governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
• Baseline experience with AI and how this changes the landscape of Data and Data Management.
• Healthcare Experience
• Certifications such as CDMP or DGSP.
