Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer - AWS in Raleigh, NC/Hybrid.

Role Description

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a key role in managing and securing our cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. This role is hands-on, performance-driven, and focused on end-of-life cycle management, automation, and security integration across our tech stack.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team working in a hybrid environment, with direct visibility to leadership and no additional layers of management. This is a high-impact role with a strong focus on AWS, Linux, Windows, and the Atlassian stack.

• Participate in a hybrid work schedule from our Raleigh office (3 days onsite).
• Manage scalable, distributed systems in cloud environments (primarily AWS).
• Automate infrastructure and configuration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Jenkins.
• Monitor system health and performance using APM and log analysis tools.
• Support secure deployments and upgrades in production and pre-production environments.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for critical systems.
• Design and execute test plans and automation frameworks.
• Troubleshoot and maintain existing systems, ensuring compliance and patching.
• Collaborate on DevOps strategy and provide technical direction on key initiatives.
• Deliver internal training and documentation as needed.

Skills & Requirements

• Strong Windows and Linux operations experience.
• AWS expertise in operations and DevOps.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and HashiCorp tools.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Java, or Shell).
• CI/CD pipeline experience (Jenkins, Git, Artifactory).
• Familiarity with APM tools (NewRelic, AppDynamics) and log monitoring (Splunk, CloudWatch).
• Database experience with SQL Server and Postgres.
• Strong understanding of network security and compliance (DNS, VPN, IAM, WAF, etc.).
• Experience with cloud network design (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Fortigate, Citrix Netscaler, or similar firewall/load balancing tools.
• Kubernetes cluster optimization and security.
• VPN solutions with 2FA.
• Knowledge of PCI or SOC compliance.
• Experience with JIRA and the Atlassian stack.
• Must be a self-starter with strong troubleshooting and automation skills
• Ability to manage deployments, upgrades, and configurations in secure environments
• Comfortable with rotating on-call support (24/7/365)
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field preferred
