Controls Field Service Technician

A leading provider of energy-efficient controls and centralized building automation systems is seeking a full-time Controls Technician to join its growing team. With a strong commitment to energy auditing standards and sustainable infrastructure, the company helps optimize building systems to deliver cost-effective, comfortable, and efficient environments.
Your new role You’ll be responsible for light system installation, system start-up, commissioning, and service of building automation systems. You’ll collaborate with project managers and field technicians to ensure systems meet engineering specifications and client expectations.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Technical degree in engineering or related field preferred, or Associate’s degree/equivalent in HVAC or BAS from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 3–5 years of experience in HVAC-related fields, including control wiring, troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and DDC.
  • Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot DDC programming, including component selection and circuit sketches.
  • Strong multitasking skills across multiple projects.
  • Experience labeling circuit wiring, testing equipment, and identifying operational issues.
  • Familiarity with electrical regulations, code compliance, panel layout, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Preferred experience with BACnet, LON, Modbus, AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of motion controllers and human-machine interfaces.
  • Ability to repair and debug control devices and create documentation based on schematics and wiring plans.
  • Coordination with project managers and other technicians is essential.
  • General job-specific training will be provided, but self-driven learning is expected.
