Corporate Controller, high growth, VC-backed CPG, remote with travel to LA.

Your new company
The opportunity is to work for a high growth, venture-backed consumer brand in the health & wellness space. Founded in 2019, the company has scaled to over $100M in annual revenue, recently acquired a major competitor and closed a $30M Series B to fuel their next phase of growth.

Their omnichannel presence includes DTC, Amazon, and partnerships with retailers like Target, Walmart, and CVS. The brand has seen explosive traction in a space that's historically been overlooked — and they're building a Finance team that reflects the same forward-thinking approach.

Your new role

They’re now hiring a Controller to work directly with the CFO and take the lead on building a best-in-class Accounting function that can scale with the business.

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of the Accounting function, including monthly close, reconciliations, AP/AR, and payroll
  • Manage and mentor a direct report (and help grow the team over time)
  • Lead internal controls, financial compliance, and policy development
  • Oversee external audits and tax filings in partnership with advisors
  • Support strategic finance initiatives, including M&A integration and fundraising
  • Maintain and optimize accounting systems (NetSuite, Bill.com, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central)
  • Prepare financial statements and support board and investor reporting
  • Work cross-functionally with Ops, Supply Chain, and Ecommerce to ensure accurate financial visibility

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of total experience, with at least 2+ years as Controller or Senior Accounting Lead in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Proven experience in
    CPG and/or eCommerce
    is essential
  • Hands-on operator who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous, scaling businesses
  • Experience implementing or optimizing NetSuite is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, technical accounting, and internal controls
  • Track record of managing (or building) small, agile accounting teams
  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related; CPA preferred but not required
