Land Development Controller Position Available in Miami

Your New Role
As Controller, Land Development, you will play a critical leadership role in modernizing and scaling the accounting function. You will oversee all aspects of Land Bank Accounting, lead close and reporting processes, and partner closely with executive leadership to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights. This role offers the opportunity to lead transformation initiatives, including automation and AI-enabled process improvements, while shaping the future state of accounting operations in a complex and evolving environment.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree is an asset
-Active CPA designation is mandatory
-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including roles at the Controller level within public accounting and/or publicly traded companies
-Experience in real estate and/or construction industries is preferred
-Strong expertise in US GAAP and experience operating within a SOX-compliant environment
-Proficiency with ERP and financial systems such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Essbase, Hyperion, and BlackLine
-Familiarity with data analytics and reporting tools including Power BI and Alteryx is preferred
-Practical experience using agentic and LLM-based AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude), including: Developing and refining effective prompts & building and configuring AI agents to streamline workflows
-Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks
-Solid understanding of digital transformation and its impact on the record-to-report cycle
-Strong analytical and innovative mindset with proven success in improving efficiency and performance
-Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional stakeholders
-Proven leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams to enhance performance will be critical to your success
