Construction Manager — Water/Wastewater

Position:
Construction Manager — Water & Wastewater

Role Overview:
Lead and manage the construction phase of water/wastewater infrastructure projects—such as pump stations, treatment plants, sewer replacements, and water transmission/distribution systems. Ensure projects are delivered safely, within scope, on budget, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of contract administration, including change orders, submittals, and RFIs
  • Coordinate procurement, manage material POs, and oversee subcontractor agreements
  • Lead construction kickoff, progress, and coordination meetings
  • Monitor schedule adherence and financial performance; implement corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure compliance with municipal permits, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Act as the primary interface with owners, engineering teams, and inspectors
  • Guide and develop onsite construction staff, fostering a collaborative culture
  • Conduct field reviews, manage constructability and design conflict resolution
  • Drive project closeout activities: as-built documentation, punch-lists, and turnover of manuals/warranties
Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Construction Engineering/Management
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PE, PMP, CCM) preferred
Experience:
  • 7+ years of heavy civil or infrastructure construction experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of municipal water/wastewater systems (pump stations, pipelines, treatment facilities)
  • Proven background in managing multi-million-dollar water/wastewater projects from pre-construction through closeout
Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities
  • Proficient in cost control, schedule management, and contract negotiation
  • Familiarity with CAD/Civil 3D and construction management software
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused in fast-paced settings.
