I am partnered with New York based Design Build GC/CM, which has been in business for over 40 years focused on core & shell/out of the ground projects. Portfolio includes large-scale retail, industrial warehousing, mixed-use residential developments, and commercial buildings across the tri-state area. Their typical project range is $20MM - $50MM, but they have extensive experience with projects valued over $100MM.

Your new role
For this role my client is looking for a NJ-based and experienced core & shell estimator with project values over $5MM to work remotely and help expand their NJ portfolio. This will be a hands-on role that will require working closely with senior leadership & ownership, clients, developers, and have a very good network of reliable subcontractors that can be leveraged for current and future projects.

Your responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, reviews all change orders in accordance with the client’s approval process.
• With minimal supervision, provide procurement services for the client, where applicable, for construction and engineering services, including preparing RFP and bid analysis
• Attend bi-weekly cost meetings to review procurement status and change order status with the contractors and engineering teams
• With minimal supervision, provide cost information on value engineering analysis
• With minimal supervision, carry out an earned value analysis of the project on a periodic basis
• Review the contractors close out administration and ensure that they meet contractual requirements
• Contribute to and understand the clients desired project outcomes, identify opportunities to add value to accomplish the desired outcomes.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role as an Estimator, you should have at least 7+ years’ experience in the industry delivering a mix of GMP, lump-sum, or negotiated estimates for a range of projects across the tri-state. You will be able to build on existing NJ subcontractor relationships and, ideally, have a Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management degree or similar experience. Industrial warehousing experience is a bonus.

What you’ll get in return
